I’d been thinking lately about bringing more lighthearted play into my life and into my work. I always intend good vibes go into each piece, but this time I really focused on playfulness. I had recently had a really good time at a regge concert and fallen in love with the local band, Niceness. So, for the full three weeks I worked on this piece I was listening to “Niceness Radio” on Pandora. This shows the Broad Tailed Hummbird who likes the alpine regions we have out here on Colorado’s Western Slope. He is frolicking amongst the often seen dwarf sunflowers we have in the mountains. The camera misses the iridized glass which actually shows his shimmering teal head and back, as well as his scarlet/magenta throat. You can see this better in the video clip at the top of this post!
